MetaMask is a self-custodial wallet developed by Consensys, available as a browser extension and mobile app. It has built-in Swaps and Bridge (a quote aggregator across EVM chains plus Solana, Bitcoin and Tron), Hyperliquid-powered perps, prediction markets, tokenized stocks and the mUSD stablecoin.
Cost: MetaMask fee of 0.875% per swap, built into the quote, plus network gas. The English swaps guide no longer prints the rate, but the localized help guides still list it, and no stablecoin exemption is documented. Perps fees depend on MetaMask Rewards level: 0.1432% taker / 0.1144% maker at Levels 1-3 or without Rewards, falling to 0.0782% / 0.0494% at Levels 6-7. Hyperliquid also charges a flat $1 perps withdrawal fee. A $1,000 buy-and-sell costs about $17.50 in MetaMask fees.

Does MetaMask support Solana and Bitcoin?
Yes. MetaMask Swaps lists Bitcoin, Solana and Tron alongside EVM networks such as Ethereum, Linea, Base, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Polygon, Monad, Robinhood Chain and others, and cross-chain swaps are supported (for example ETH on Ethereum to SOL on Solana).

What is MetaMask Rewards?
MetaMask Rewards is MetaMask's loyalty program, opted into from the Rewards tab on mobile. It runs mainly through time-limited campaigns, plus ongoing items such as 3% money back on the Metal Card and a 3% bonus for converting stablecoins into mUSD. Each user gets a referral code that earns campaign bonuses.
What is mUSD?
mUSD (MetaMask USD) is a dollar stablecoin issued by Bridge and powered by M0, backed by short-term US Treasury bills. It launched in September 2025 on Ethereum and Linea.
