FAQ

Is MetaMask legit?

MetaMask is a self-custodial wallet developed by Consensys. It launched in 2016 as open-source software and added Swaps on desktop in October 2020. As of early 2026, MetaMask reports over 100 million users. In Swaps it acts as a quote aggregator and does not execute trades or provide liquidity itself.

What is MetaMask's swap fee?

MetaMask's help center lists a 0.875% MetaMask fee on swaps, built into the quote. Network gas comes on top. Bridging through MetaMask Swaps uses the same flow. No reduced stablecoin rate is documented.

Does MetaMask support Solana and Bitcoin?

Yes. MetaMask Swaps lists Bitcoin, Solana and Tron alongside EVM networks such as Ethereum, Linea, Base, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Polygon, Monad, Robinhood Chain and others, and cross-chain swaps are supported (for example ETH on Ethereum to SOL on Solana).

What are MetaMask perps fees?

Perps run on Hyperliquid. Total fees are 0.1432% taker and 0.1144% maker at MetaMask Rewards Levels 1-3, falling to 0.0782% / 0.0494% at Levels 6-7. Hyperliquid charges a $1 withdrawal fee. Perps are not offered in the USA, UK, Ontario or Belgium.

What is MetaMask Rewards?

MetaMask Rewards is MetaMask's loyalty program, opted into from the Rewards tab on mobile. It runs mainly through time-limited campaigns, plus ongoing items such as 3% money back on the Metal Card and a 3% bonus for converting stablecoins into mUSD. Each user gets a referral code that earns campaign bonuses.
