Why can't I withdraw from MetaMask?
You hold the keys; you move funds with Send by choosing a network and token and entering any recipient address. MetaMask warns about new or look-alike addresses. MetaMask documents 2 reasons a withdrawal can be delayed or held, listed below.
Checked 2026-10-17 · 2 sources- Fee: The send guide describes only network fees paid to the blockchain and states no MetaMask send fee.
- Sending needs enough of the network's native token to cover the network fee (on some networks the fee can be paid in other tokens).
- Funds sent to an address on the wrong network may be unrecoverable on non-EVM networks.
- Keep a little of the chain's native coin (SOL, ETH, BNB) in the wallet. Without it you cannot pay the network fee to send anything.
- If one token will not send or sell while others do, the token itself may block it: a freeze authority, a honeypot contract or no liquidity.
- Anyone offering to "recover" funds for a fee, or asking for your login or seed phrase, is running a scam.
