MetaMask: watch out for
- The 0.875% swap fee (1.75% round trip) is higher than many standalone aggregators that charge no interface fee
- Perps are not available in the USA, UK, Ontario or Belgium
- Fee disclosure is inconsistent: the English swap guide omits the rate, and the perps marketing page says 'no fees' while the help center lists them
Coinbase Wallet: watch out for
- Swap fee of up to 1% per side, with no published default rate
- Two renames in about 14 months (Base App in July 2025, back to Coinbase Wallet in September 2026), and the classic wallet closed on 2026-08-15, dropping networks such as XRP, Litecoin, zkSync Era and Sei
- Passkey smart wallets support EVM networks only, not Bitcoin or Solana
