Clients can convert US dollars and other supported dollar-denominated stablecoins into RLUSD at 1:1. Availability for Coinbase Global Exchange customers, including use of RLUSD as collateral, will follow; no date was given.

Ripple says it will provide RLUSD liquidity on Base. RLUSD, launched in December 2024, has a market capitalization above $2.4 billion according to Ripple and is backed by US dollar deposits, short-term US Treasuries and other cash equivalents.

Regional availability on Coinbase can differ by product and country; the announcement does not list countries.
