Coinbase Advanced cuts US entry-tier fees to 0.50% maker, 0.90% taker

Taker fees for small US traders fall by a quarter, and the first volume tier now starts at $10,000.

US taker fee (entry tier) 1.20%→0.90%
US maker fee (entry tier) 0.60%→0.50%
First volume tier (30-day) $25,000→$10,000
On a $1,000 trade (buy + sell at the US entry-tier taker rate) $24.00→$18.00

Coinbase lowered its Advanced fee schedule on 16 September 2026. US traders at the entry tier now pay 0.50% maker and 0.90% taker, down from 0.60% and 1.20%, and the first volume tier starts at $10,000 in 30-day volume.

Press coverage of the change also reports that spot and derivatives volume now count toward one tier system, and that USDC balances can qualify an account for tiers.

Coinbase lists separate entry rates for other regions: 0.25% maker and 0.50% taker in the EU and UK. The top VIP tier reaches 0% maker and 0.02% taker.

“US traders now face a 0.50% maker fee and a 0.90% taker fee.”
