Kraken customers had trouble connecting to the exchange and submitting orders for about an hour on 30 October 2026. Kraken's status page opened an incident at 02:42 UTC covering spot and derivatives clients on all web and mobile apps and on REST, WebSocket and FIX connections, and marked it resolved at 03:42 UTC.
The incident listed the website, the Kraken App, the REST and WebSocket APIs and cross-exchange transfers as affected components. Kraken posted one interim update at 02:55 UTC saying it was still investigating, and has not published a cause or said how many accounts or orders were affected. Kraken Support replied to customers on X that it was aware of the issue and pointed them to the status page.
During the hour, some customers said on X that they could not trade, saw repeated error messages, or could not withdraw, according to crypto.news. Kraken's status notice describes connection and order-submission problems; it does not mention withdrawals, and Kraken has not said whether any customer transactions need further processing. In a separate notice opened at 03:09 UTC, Kraken said Earn rewards payouts were delayed and would be paid once service was restored; that notice was also resolved at 03:41 UTC.
The outage came the day after Binance suspended withdrawals following a multi-billion-dollar hack. Kraken has not linked its outage to that event, and no report shows Kraken funds were lost.
“We are investigating an issue affecting Spot and Derivatives clients connecting to the platform and submitting orders across all Web and Mobile applications, as well as REST, WebSocket, and FIX connections.”
