QCX LLC, which operates Polymarket US, has agreed to stop offering new sports-related event contracts to Michigan customers and to close out any remaining open positions by the end of the day Eastern time on 25 November 2026, the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) announced on 28 October 2026.
Under the stipulation, approved by the US District Court for the Western District of Michigan, Polymarket US will close any open contracts held by Michigan residents that customers have not closed themselves by the deadline. In exchange, the state agreed not to take enforcement action while the company stays in compliance.
Polymarket US sued Michigan officials in March 2026. The court denied a temporary restraining order in March and a preliminary injunction in June, and Polymarket's appeal is pending before the Sixth Circuit. The MGCB says Michigan has now secured agreements or court orders halting sports event contracts from Kalshi, Robinhood, Coinbase and Polymarket.
The agreement covers sports-related contracts for Michigan customers of Polymarket US; the MGCB announcement does not address other contract categories. The international polymarket.com site already blocks US trading.
“Under the terms of the stipulation, approved by the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan, Polymarket US will cease offering new sports-related event contracts in Michigan and will close any open contracts held by Michigan residents that customers have not closed out voluntarily by the November 25 deadline.”
