Meteora

Meteora is a Solana liquidity protocol offering DLMM (bin-based concentrated liquidity with dynamic fees), DAMM v2 constant-product pools, and the Dynamic Bonding Curve (DBC) used by launchpads to launch tokens that graduate into DAMM v2 pools.

Cost: Traders pay the pool's fee, which each pool sets: DLMM uses a base plus a volatility-driven variable fee capped at 10%, DAMM v2 pools range from 0.01% up to a 99% cap, and DBC launch curves charge at least 0.25%. Meteora does not publish a separate interface fee, so the platform round trip is not stated.

Meteora fees

FeeTypeRateApplies toNote
DLMM pool fee lp — Buy and sell Base fee plus variable fee that rises with volatility; total capped at 10%
DLMM protocol share protocol — Buy and sell 10% of trading fee on standard pools, 20% on Launch Pools; rest to LPs
DAMM v2 pool fee lp — Buy and sell Configurable base fee (min 1 bps) plus optional dynamic fee; schedulers can start high and decay; cap 99%
DAMM v2 protocol share protocol — Buy and sell Defaults to 20% of the trading fee
DBC bonding-curve fee protocol — Buy and sell Set by the launchpad; minimum base fee 0.25%, total cap 99%; protocol receives 20%, the rest split between partner (launchpad) and creator
DBC protocol liquidity migration fee protocol 0.2% Buy and sell Fixed 0.2% taken from liquidity when a DBC pool graduates; partner/creator migration fees are configurable on top
Referral (host) fee other — Buy and sell When a swap passes a referral account, the host gets 20% of the protocol fee; paid out of the protocol fee, not added to it

How DEX fees work: instead of a platform fee, each swap pays the fee of the pool it routes through (listed above where published). The interface itself may add its own fee.

Platform fees only. On-chain network/priority fees, pool (LP) fees and price impact are extra and vary by trade.

Users provide liquidity and swap from their own Solana wallets; the Meteora site swaps through an embedded Jupiter Terminal or a pool's Swap tab.

Incidents on record

  • 2025-10-23: Co-founder named in memecoin class action. Fortune reported a putative class action by Burwick Law alleging Meteora co-founder Benjamin Chow and Hayden Davis orchestrated memecoin launches, including $MELANIA, and sold at peak prices. These were allegations; Chow has denied receiving insider information or tokens. Source
  • 2026-09-29: Federal judge dismisses LIBRA and M3M3 class action. In Hurlock v. Kelsier Labs, the Southern District of New York dismissed the amended complaint with prejudice, finding the plaintiffs did not plausibly plead fraudulent intent or that Meteora is an unincorporated association that can be sued, and denying leave to add MELANIA, ENRON and TRUST claims. Solana Compass is the main report of the ruling; the docket was not checked. Source
  • 2026-01-17: Impersonation scam listed against Meteora DAMM v2. DefiLlama's hacks database lists a Meteora DAMM V2 incident classified as social engineering (impersonation scam) with about $1.5M lost. No Meteora post-mortem was found. Source

Pros and cons

Pros

  • DLMM pools raise fees during volatility, so LPs earn more when risk is higher.
  • Standard DLMM pools pass 90% of trading fees to LPs.
  • Referral host fees come out of the protocol share rather than being added to the trader's cost.
  • DBC requires at least 10% of liquidity to remain locked at day 1 after migration.

Cons

  • Pool fees vary by pool and can be set very high; DAMM v2 and DBC allow up to 99%.
  • Co-founder Benjamin Chow was named in a memecoin class action reported in October 2025; it was dismissed in September 2026.
  • Terms of Service list the United States and several other countries as Restricted Territories.

Meteora FAQ

Is Meteora legit?

Meteora is a Solana liquidity protocol whose DLMM, DAMM and DBC programs are documented publicly. In October 2025 Fortune reported a class action over memecoin launches involving co-founder Benjamin Chow; a federal judge dismissed it on September 29, 2026, per Solana Compass. DefiLlama lists a $1.5M impersonation scam tied to DAMM v2 in January 2026.

What fees does Meteora charge?

Each pool sets its own fee. DLMM charges a base fee plus a volatility-based variable fee capped at 10%. DAMM v2 pools start at 1 bps minimum. DBC launch curves charge at least 0.25%.

How much of Meteora's fees go to LPs?

On standard DLMM pools the protocol keeps 10% of trading fees and LPs get 90%. DLMM Launch Pools and DAMM v2 default to a 20% protocol share.

What is Meteora's Dynamic Bonding Curve?

DBC is a configurable bonding curve that launchpads use to launch tokens. Fees go 20% to the protocol and the rest to the launchpad and creator. On graduation, a fixed 0.2% migration fee applies and liquidity moves to DAMM v2.
