Cashback vs referral discount

A referral discount lowers the fee rate taken on each trade, usually by a fixed share such as 10%, when you sign up with someone's code. Cashback charges the full fee first and pays part of it back later, often in tiers that grow with volume or rank. Thresholds and conditions apply.

Referral discounts

Bloom's fee page says it charges 1% on every buy and sell, and that users who sign in through a referral pay a reduced 0.9%, a 10% discount. Pump.fun's fees page uses the same approach for its app Platform Fee from 2026-10-17: 0.45% per trade without a referral code and 0.40% with one.

The referrer earns a share of your fees separately. GMGN, for example, advertises a 10% to 30% rebate to people who refer others. Bloom pays referrers 25% of its fee on direct referrals, and Pump.fun routes part of its Platform Fee to the referrer. In those cases the commission comes out of the platform's fee, not out of your discount.

Cashback programmes

Trojan's docs say it charges 1% per successful trade and pays cashback in SOL on every completed trade, with the percentage rising as your Arena rank goes up. Its rewards page advertises up to 45% cashback for users who level up and complete quests.

Cashback is usually paid later and needs claiming. Bloom's docs say cashback and referral fees can be claimed every 6 hours once the balance passes a minimum, such as 0.1 SOL on Solana. Bloom's own pages describe its 10% referral benefit both as a reduced 0.9% fee and as 10% referred cashback. So check which form actually applies in your account.

How to compare them

Work out the effective fee. A 1% fee with 10% cashback costs 0.9% only if you meet the conditions and claim. A 0.9% discounted fee costs 0.9% on every trade with nothing to claim. Higher cashback tiers can beat a discount, but they reward trading more, which also means paying more fees in total.

Check whether a code can be added to an existing account, whether discount and cashback stack, and whether cashback expires or has a minimum claim.
