Incidents on record
- 2026-06-02: EDGE token price spike; edgeX offers liquidation compensation. After abnormal EDGE price swings in the early hours of June 2, edgeX called it an attack on the token price and said the protocol stayed up and user assets were safe. It offered users with realized losses on EDGE longs between 04:50 and 06:00 (UTC+8) up to $100,000 USDC each, half in USDC and half in EDGE in April 2027. This is edgeX's own account. Source

Terms of Use: the edgeX Interface is not available to persons or entities residing, located, incorporated or registered in the United States or Canada ('Blocked Persons'). No Services are offered to Restricted Territories: Iran, Cuba, North Korea, Syria, Myanmar, Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk and other comprehensively US-sanctioned regions. Using a VPN to circumvent restrictions is prohibited. The UK and EU are not named. The referral page says wallets with repeated access attempts from a restricted jurisdiction are ineligible. Status 'unknown' for unnamed regions means the Terms do not list them as restricted; the venue does not affirmatively confirm availability there. (source)
We report what the venue's own terms say. Don't use a VPN to get around restrictions; venues can freeze accounts that do.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Settles to Ethereum, with V1 built on the StarkEx ZK-rollup engine and V2 anchoring state roots to Ethereum L1.
- Email login creates an MPC wallet, so new users do not need an existing crypto wallet.
- Lists stock and forex perpetuals alongside crypto pairs.
- Platform audits by Rigsec and SlowMist are published in the docs.
Cons
- The regular-user maker fee of 0.040% is close to the 0.045% taker fee, so resting orders save little.
- The Terms block US and Canadian residents from the interface and prohibit VPN workarounds.
- Referral rewards start only after 5 valid friends and $500K of friends' volume, and no referee discount is stated.
