Coinbase renames Base App back to Coinbase Wallet

The self-custodial app is repositioned around trading and multichain access, reversing the July 2025 rebrand.

Coinbase announced on 10 September 2026 that the Base App will again be called Coinbase Wallet. The change reverses the July 2025 rename, which had positioned the app as a social 'everything app'.

The app is now described as a self-custodial trading and multichain app. The Block reports it offers perpetual futures powered by Hyperliquid, prediction markets and tokenized stocks, across more than 10 networks including Robinhood Chain and Monad.

Ryan Kass, Head of Coinbase Wallet Product, said the name better describes the product's role. Coinbase has not published a default swap fee for the app; its help pages state a fee of up to 1% on DEX swaps.

“The Coinbase Wallet name better captures the product's role as Coinbase's self-custodial front door”
