Custody: who holds your money
Private keys and seed phrases are stored locally on the device; OKX says it cannot access, reset or recover them. Optional exchange-linked features may require KYC.
Incidents
No reported hacks, exploits or frozen withdrawals in the sources we checked.
Real downsides
- Buying or selling long-tail tokens against major tokens costs 0.5% per side
- Fee groups are updated regularly, so the rate on a given pair can change
- Several DEX market features were discontinued in September 2026 (Surge, Vibes, parts of Signal)

The OKX Web3 Ecosystem Terms do not list the US as a Restricted Location (they cite sanctioned regions such as Cuba, Iran, North Korea and occupied Ukrainian regions) and include specific 'United States Users' governing-law and arbitration clauses (New York law, JAMS). The FAQ says availability varies by jurisdiction. Trust Wallet's comparison page claims OKX Web3 is restricted in the US, which conflicts with OKX's own terms; verify in-app. (source)
We report what the venue's own terms say. Don't use a VPN to get around restrictions; venues can freeze accounts that do.
How to use OKX Wallet without getting scammed
- Only open web3.okx.com — fake lookalike sites and "support" DMs are the most common way people lose funds on any trading venue.
- Never share a seed phrase or private key. No real support agent will ask for one.
- A referral code only changes your fee and who gets a share of it. It never needs your keys.
- Treat every new memecoin as able to go to zero. A legit venue does not make the coins on it safe.

FAQ
Is OKX Wallet legit?
OKX Wallet is the non-custodial Web3 wallet of OKX, operating separately from the OKX exchange under the OKX Web3 Ecosystem Terms. Keys stay on your device and OKX says it cannot access them. It advertises 130+ chains. No wallet-specific security incident is recorded here.
What is the OKX Wallet swap fee?
Swaps through OKX DEX carry an interface fee by token group: 0.1% (Group 1 <> Group 1), 0.25% (pairs with Group 2, including tokenized stocks), 0.5% (Group 1 or 2 <> other tokens) or 0% (other <> other). Gas and protocol fees are extra.
Is OKX Wallet available in the US?
OKX's Web3 terms do not list the US as a restricted location and include clauses specifically for United States users. Its FAQ says availability varies by jurisdiction and sanctioned regions are blocked. Check the app for feature-level restrictions.
Does OKX Wallet require KYC?
No. As non-custodial software it does not require identity verification. KYC may be required only if you choose features linked to an OKX exchange account.
How does the OKX DEX referral program work?
Inviters earn 10% (Level 1) up to 50% (Level 7) of invitees' interface fees, based on invitees' monthly volume, and can pass part of it back as a fee discount. Commissions are paid on-chain to the inviter's wallet right after each trade.
